Oohh..time really flies fast, is Thurday again, can’t believe that Mid-Autumn Festival was over. We had a happy and joyful time yesterday with family members to celebrate the MEF. My sons were so happy to have mooncakes to eat and played with the lantern.
The excitement of MEF is still maintain till this morning..therefore, I made this happy family theme bento for my son this morning. The bento is represented by a chicken family. 🙂
I made a round shape butter and cheese sandwich as the Hen, and cut a heart shape from boiled carrot to make the comb. I used the boiled carrot for the beak and the wings too. To make the Little Chicks, I pan fried three pieces of tempura chicken nuggets and used the heart shape food picks for the combs of the Little Chicks. Again, used the boiled carrot to make the beak. I cut some round cheese and nori for the eyes of the Hen and three Little Chicks.
I put the Hen on a big round sillicon cup and surrounded by some black grapes in the box. Then, put the three Little Chicks on the top of some lettuce. After I took the photo, I realised there was something been missing out…opps…the father, the Rooster. Without the Rooster, how to fulfill the theme happy family?? Oh no…I have no time for this. 😦
Finally, I decided to add a picture of the rooster while I edited the photo…haha…this is the best option I can think of. Can you spot where is the Rooster?? 😉
So…that’s all about today’s bento. Hope that all of you have a happy family forever. Cheers!!
