爱。开心便当のTuna Bread Sushi

No kawaii bento this morning…I just made some bread sushi.  I put in some mayonnaise tuna and cucumber as filling and used bread to replace the rice.  With the help of the bamboo mat (makisu), I rolled up the bamboo mat, and shape the sushi into a cylinder. Then, cut the sushi roll into bite-sized pieces.  This is simple and easy.🙂

Included in the bento are baby carrots, sausage flower and black grapes.

My son doesn’t like to eat cucumber at all, especially raw cucumber…so I hope that by putting it into the sushi, he will eat it and hopefully he will like to eat cucumber sooner or later…hehehe.

  1. If you didn’t mentioned, I won’t realize that it is actually bread and not rice! The bento is still cute, with the 2 mini carrots😀

Me too. I thought they are rice sushi. Bread sushi sounds interesting to try. Look at those sausages, cute for me🙂

Thanks for the kind comments, Lia. My son like bread sushi than rice sushi. Further more, bread sushi is easier to make than rice sushi…I think..hehehe.

I love the hearts in the sausages! I’ve made bread sushi before but always had to hold it together with a pick. Putting the nori on the outside fixes that problem, thank you for the great solution!

      Thank you so much, Heather.🙂
Yah, need to put a pick if there is no nori outside to hold. Glad that this idea can help you.😉

  4. […] son requested some sushi for bento last night.  He began to like to eat sushi recently, after the tuna bread sushi that I have made for him…but with normal rice without vinegar and ingredients that he likes […]
