This was yesterday bento for my son. I bought a pack of inari last few weeks…and again…need to use it before it went expired..haha. I filled the inari pockets with two different colored rice, yellow and green. Then, I made some two flowers from sausage stripes and two from cucumber stripes. Put these flowers on the top of the inari sushi and put in the heart and leaf picks to make the inari sushi as flower pots.
There were some tamagoyaki and grapes in the the bento and a cherry tomato to brighten up the box. 🙂
Wishing everyone have a great weekend ahead. ^^

I made inari sushi again…hehe…my son love to eat this sweet bean curds a lot, so I made him these inari sushi again and this time made them as bees…buzzzzz…buzzzz…bees is coming.. so, remember to “bee” happy all the while.
The bees were made from inari and decorated with nori for the body stripes, fish balls slices for the wings, nori for the eyes, crab meat for the rosy cheeks, spaghetti stripes and tiny fish ball as the tentacles. Aren’t they look like bees?? 😉
Other than the three bees, there are two roasted chicken pieces, broccoli florets, a sausage flower and a Nanfeng Tangerine. The small star shape flower on the top of the broccoli were made from crab meat too.
Don’t worry, ‘bee’ happy…cheers!! 🙂

Sleepy bento is the theme for today’s bento. I felt so sleepy and lazy to wake up this morning and my son too, but too bad we both have to wake up early as the school van will come at 6.30am to fetch him. I got to wake up much more earlier than him to prepare this bento…urghhh…mom’s job, no excuse for me! Both of us look exactly like the froggies in the bento this morning…so unwilling to wake up, so blur and feel sleepy…haha.
I made 3 inari sushi..yay..inari again, I need to finish these inari before it went expired. 🙂 I filled the inari with some green rice which inspired by Lia in her edamame rice post. I could not get edamame at my place here…poor little town. 😦 but I found some frozen broad beans which almost same like edamame, so I decided to use these to make the green rice inari. After filling the inari with the rice, I cut some fish balls slices for the froggies’ eyes. Blur eye balls and mouth were cut from nori.
Inside the box, there are broccoli, baby carrots, mini pork patties, fish nuggets and apples slices.
Hope my son will not fall asleep in the class and enjoy his yummylicious green rice inari sushi. 🙂
Update: Added this post to Shannon’s What’s for Lunch Wednesday, Week 21. There are many nice and creative bento in the post, check them out.

I never think of making Hello Kitty bento before. Hello Kitty always related to girls and very rare that boys will like her. Therefore, she is NOT in my list of bento. But…life is full of surprise and amazing things, my son requested me to make Hello Kitty bento for him when he saw the Hello Kitty bedsheet that I bought. Therefore, I make used of the small inari that I bought from 100Yen shop.
I decorated the inari sushi with nori, cheese, ham as the Hello Kitty’s face details. I have two red ribbon food picks which are just nice for the kitties. I included some boiled prawns and some black grapes into the box to complete the bento.
My son gave me a big smile after he saw this bento, and I knew he like the Hello Kitty so much. 🙂
Time flies, is Friday again…wishing everyone have a wonderful and joyful weekend.
