Fondant Cupcakes – Bear & Keroppi

October 21, 2010

I made some steamed vanilla and orange sponge cupcakes for my eldest son’s classmates for Children’s Day celebration.  I decided to decorate the cupcakes with fondant icing.  This was my first time “play” with fondant icing.  It was FUN!!! 🙂 Decorating the cupcakes using fondant icing is just like making miniatures with clay.  As long as you got the imagination, you can decorated it any way you like…. cute, pretty, elegant, or sexy. 🙂 After some disscussion  with my son, we decorated the cupcakes with Bear and Keroppi.

We dare not try with those 3D design as this is our first time using fondant, therefore, we just made a simple 2D design to cover the cupcakes.  Both of us had a great time when making all these cute cupcakes fondant.  There are total 50 cupcakes we need to decorate, 25 with Bear and the rest with Keroppi.  Here’s are some of our “artworks”…

After that, we need to pack those cute cupcakes with plastic disposable food containers.  We have to pack 25 boxes.  In each of the boxes, we put a Bear cupcake and a Keroppi cupcake, also included some sweets and mini fruit jellies.

I am glad that the kids like the cute cupcakes so much and enjoy eating them.  🙂
